Lexington County AG + Art Tour
June 5 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Lexington County Master Gardener Volunteers (LCMGV) members are needed to help with the Lexington County’s First Ag + Art Tour. The tour will be at multiple locations throughout Lexington County.
Saturday June 5 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday June 6 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Multiple locations(see flyer for locations)
LCMGV will host an Ask a Master Gardener Booth at The Farm, 1127 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. We will have reference sheets available to you for questions that you might be asked. We are working now to put an informational packet together for your use.
LCMGV has been asked to volunteer as greeters for all of the farms on the tour. What this entails is greeting the guest and providing information about the workings of the farm and letting the guest know what they will be experiencing during their visit.
This is going to be a fun weekend! All of the farms are going to have bands each day. If the farm does not provide their own food, food trucks will be there. All of the farms are hoping to have at least six artisans and they will all provide farm tours.
Fire Barrel Farm (Swansea) will have a goat milking demonstration, soap making, and yoga with goat’s demonstration. It’s no joke, you can sign-up for Yoga with goats, they just hosted their first yoga class with goat’s, it was a success! Vegetables and blue berries will be available for sale.
Clinton Sease Farm (Lexington) will have the playground open and admission is free. Hayrides will be offered. They will have a grits meal demonstration and will serve grits. They will also have wine slushes!
Mercer House Winery (Lexington) will have a vendor teaching a Bob Ross class.
The Farm (Lexington) will tell the history of the property. They will be replanting long leaf pines. On Saturday they will have a fall plantings demonstration. On Sunday they will have a mini farmer’s market.
Details for Locklair Farm (Gaston) will be forthcoming.
Clemson Extension has high hopes for this event being a big success and would really appreciate Lexington County Master Gardener Volunteers assistance. This is a safe way for LCMGV to ease back into the swing of things and provide Educational Service. A successful Clemson Background check must be completed prior to volunteering for this event.
We will continue to update you as information becomes available to us. The link to the sign-up genius is below.
